01 / What we can work on

Start with the object you have

A scan captures the shape of a physical object. Tell us what you want to do with the result so we can discuss the detail, accessible surfaces and output files your project needs.

A

Digital references

Capture an existing object as a mesh that can support reference work and planning. Include the object size and the details that are most important to your project.

B

Object archives

Preserve the shape of an object in a digital file. We agree on capture scope and output formats around how you plan to store or use the mesh.

C

Mesh cleanup

Prepare captured geometry for the agreed next step. Tell us which areas need attention and how you intend to use the digital model.

D

Scanning with CAD design

Use an original part as a starting point for a design conversation. We review critical dimensions and scope any custom modeling separately from object capture.

02 / Getting started

A clear path
to your next part.

We review the details with you, define the work and agree on the quote before starting.

01

Send photos and approximate size

Show the object from several angles. Include its surface or material, the features you need captured and the intended use of the scan.

02

Agree on capture and files

We discuss required detail, access to surfaces, mesh cleanup and output formats. Share any specific dimensional requirements before work begins.

03

Arrange the object and delivery

We are based in Boca Raton, Florida. For shipped objects, we agree on packaging, handling and return arrangements alongside the scanning scope.

03 / Your questions

About
3d scanning.

What should I send for a scanning quote?

Send clear photos, approximate dimensions, the surface or material, required output files and what you intend to use the scan for.

Can I ship an object for scanning?

We can discuss shipping an object to Boca Raton and returning it after scanning. Send its size, photos and handling needs first.

Does a scan include a custom CAD model?

Object capture and custom CAD modeling are separate project steps. We discuss whether you need a reference mesh, cleanup or an additional design deliverable before quoting.

What scan file formats will I receive?

We agree on output formats before starting. Tell us which software or next process will use the file so we can review the required deliverables.

04 / Let's make something useful

Tell Pat about
your project.

Send your files or photos, approximate dimensions, intended use and deadline. For printing, include quantity and shipping destination. We will review the details and agree on the scope.
